As the name suggests, Hand showers are hand held bath shower fittings and unlike the other categories of showers that are fixed fixtures , Hand Showers can be maneuvered at any angle by the user. Mostly Hand Showers are installed along with the overhead shower or where there is not enough head room for an overhead shower. However nowadays there are shower accessories available like Sliding Shower Rail on which Hand showers can slide up and / or down vertically along the height and can be fixed at any height. Hence if fixed on higher level, the hand shower can also double up as over head shower thereby making overhead shower redundant. Hand showers are also used in bath tubs. These are called telephonic showers.

Typical Hand shower types are :

• Single Flow : The only type of flow out of the shower is in the form of multiple streams of water coming out of the small pores on the surface of the shower head. It is the most basic and common form of shower that we are accustomed to.
• Multi Flow : In such a shower the shower head comes with an attachment that can be maneuvered to get 2 or more type of flows from the shower. The different type of flows could be : Regular , Cascade ( in the form of a waterfall ), Massage ( with fewer but thicker streams of water at high pressure )
