As the name suggest , shower fixtures that are installed above our head level and throws the water down are overhead showers. Overhead showers or shower heads can be installed on the wall (typically at a height of around 7’ ) or can be suspended from ceiling using extended shower arms. Overhead showers could as simple as a typical square or round shape single flow shower head installed on the wall or can be as complex & multifunctional as a Rain or a multi flow shower with LED lights.  Typical overhead shower types are :

• Single Flow : The only type of flow out of the shower is in the form of multiple streams of water coming out of the small pores on the surface of the shower head. It is the most basic and common form of shower that we are accustomed to.
• Multi Flow : In such a shower the shower head comes with an attachment that can be maneuvered to get 2 or more type of flows from the shower. The different type of flows could be : Regular , Cascade ( in the form of a waterfall ), Massage ( with fewer but thicker streams of water at high pressure )   
• Rain : These are high pressure showers that are suspended from the ceiling and produce uniform but high pressure streams of water creating the effect of rainfall. The shower heads could be 4”x4” to more than 2’x2’ in size. Bigger the shower head, better the effect of falling rain.
