Counter Top or Table Top Basins are used where a platform or a counter is provided to mount the basin. A platform or a counter is typically provided for improving aesthetics and providing utility space above and below the platform. The top of the platform is typically made of stone or tile and the Counter Top Basin , as the name suggests, is installed on Top of  the platform. The bottom of the basin sits on the platform level. This allows for more efficient utilization of space below the platform for vanity cabinet or utility storage. Since the Basin bowl sits on top and is visible, counter top basins come in variety of attractive designs, shapes and also materials to improve the aesthetics.   Where the basin is not provided with the provision to install a Basin Faucet on the periphery of the bowl and the faucet needs to be installed on the counter top / platform , a Tall Body Basin Mixture or Tap should be used so  that the spout of the faucet is above the level of the wall of the basin.
