Various types of naturally existing stones have been used in building construction and flooring since the beginning of building activity and even after thousands of years stone has not lost its shine. There are various types of stones that exist in the nature and vary by the virtue of their formation ( igneous, sedimentary , metamorphic ) & composition ( harder  Siliceous stones like granite, slate, sandstone, quartzite, brownstone etc.  and softer Calcareous stones like marble, onyx, limestone etc). Then there are composite or artificial stones that are manufactured in factory settings using wastes from natural stones.
